Best Rube Goldberg Machine Inventor
The Rube Goldberg Machine is a chain-reaction contraption that aims to complete a relatively simple task in a very complicated, awe-inspiring way. We can find popular examples of these machines in children’s board games like Mouse Trap.
This game was born out of humankind’s desire to take a simple task and make it as complicated as possible. We love it! Just look at InfusionSoft (see also: IKEA Furniture, Two-Step Verifications). It was only a matter of time before civilizations decided to make a game out of our love for overcomplicated things.
In this event, we aren’t asking you to keep it simple. Be overcomplicated, be over-the-top, and have fun with it. Your co-workers have been frustrated with your roundabout approach to getting things done before. As an Olympic Inventor, you won’t frustrate anyone for a second if your contraption turns the simple task of frying an egg into a 10-step procedure. You’ll be crowned an Olympic medalist!
Rules of the Game
For starters, we encourage safety during this game. Secondly, LinkNow is not liable for any household damages that occur during the making of your machine.
Now for the rules:
- All contenders are asked to create their Rube Goldberg Machine before the event.
- You must record your machine in action from start to finish.
- You must show yourself on camera at some point too. We want to know if you didn’t steal the video from the internet.
- Also, no Performance Enhancing Drugs.
- Videos must be between 30 seconds and five minutes in length.
Determining the Winner
The LinkNow Media Olympics Judges will determine the Top 3 (Gold, Silver, and Bronze) winners. You are not required to destroy your machine after the competition, but for safety reasons, the lowest-scoring contenders might wish to do so.
