Poker

As Kenny Rogers famously said: “You got to know when to hold ‘em, know when to fold ‘em.” The game of poker has been a popular choice among gamblers since the early 19th century, and this tradition lives on at the LinkNow Olympics. This year, we are hosting a full house of some of the biggest poker stars from each country in an attempt to separate the studs from the saps. We’re not bluffing—if you consider yourself a card shark, then sign up for our poker tournament for your chance to take home the pot.

What are the Odds?

Poker began as a regional card game in the United States during the 1800s but has since expanded into a global phenomenon. The world has gone “all in” on this game of skill, luck, and strategy, and poker is now found in casinos far and wide. The rise of online poker and large tournaments raked in even more poker fans and helped cement this card game as one of the world’s favourite pastimes.

Let’s Get Things Straight

There are many variations of poker, but Texas Hold ‘Em is by far the most popular. Each player is given two cards only they can see, and then five cards are revealed that are shared by the entire table. Players are allowed to place bets, and the person with the best combination of cards wins the pot of chips. At the LinkNow Olympics, we are holding a “tournament-style” event. All players will start with 5000 chips without the ability to buyback into the game if they run out. Blinds will increase every 10 minutes, and the last three players standing will receive gold, silver, and bronze. If you are ready to raise to the occasion and flush the competition, then get your poker face ready for this high-stakes event.
