Team Scavenger Hunt
An event traditionally plagued by controversy, blurry photographic proof, and accusations of doping, the team scavenger hunt is best described as a free-for-all foray into the depths of team members’ homes. Originating as a practice in an era when human civilization depended on foraging and scavenging for its survival, the team scavenger hunt event combines mental fortitude, physical agility, and a high level of team coordination—not to mention a robust argumentative ability to critique others’ efforts.
The Ultimate Way to Cap Off the Celebrations
This event will take place during the Closing Ceremony. Presided over by Wes, the scavenger hunt requires participation from your entire country. After being simultaneously issued a roster of items ranging from the everyday to the obscure, participants will scramble to collect photos of themselves posing with the listed objects. There’s no telling exactly what participants may be asked to scrounge up—historical precedent indicates that there may be a few curveballs.
By All Means, Be Quick—But Beware of Cutting Corners
As has been the accepted practice in the past—who could forget the hubbub of this event at Halloween ‘22? —photos must clearly display the team member’s face and the entirety of the item. Each team must gather these photos and email them to Wes. The first team to CORRECTLY submit all photos will be crowned the winner.
How Scavenging Became a Prestigious Skill
Despite its inclusion of a photographic component, the winners of the scavenger hunt event are not usually those with the most technically advanced photography skills. Indeed, those who succeed at the challenge of the scavenger hunt event are traditionally individuals able to meet this sport’s delicate balance of speed and accuracy. Not all are ready for the challenge this seemingly simple sport presents.
Where Would We Be Without the Scavenger Hunt?
As the cumulative event of the LinkNow Olympics, the team scavenger hunt holds a special place of prestige and fondness for athletes and spectators alike. A beloved classic for many groups of people throughout society, from schoolchildren on a field trip to corporate families looking to create stronger connections within their teams, the scavenger hunt has stood the test of time as an event that delights the heart and excites the competitive spirit.
