Trivia

The pursuit of trivial knowledge is a tale as old as time. Nobody quite understands what draws some humans toward useless factoids or what compels them to flex this acquired information in competition, but it is clear that our thirst for knowledge extends further than our need for meaning.

The LinkNow Olympics has always been a competition that values brains in addition to brawn, and our trivia event puts this front and center. Brainiacs from all around the globe will compete to see who is the champion of retaining and recalling inconsequential information.

Trivium 101

From Plato to Ken Jennings, the world has seen many inquisitive minds eager to squander their talents searching for pointless points and impractical intelligence. That said, this trivial pursuit is not always trivial, with modern triviathletes now competing for fame, glory, and cold hard cash.

Trivia competitions can be traced back thousands of years to when Romans would challenge one another to battles of wit. These days, the trivia tradition lives on in events such as bar trivia and Jeopardy! (Weekdays at 7pm EST on ABC).

The LinkNow Olympic Quiz Bowl has grown to be one of the most prestigious events in the trivia community. The best of the best quiz wizzes from each country travel to our undisclosed soundstage to see who will take home the title of “biggest brain.”

Remember These Rules

Every serious triviathlete knows they must adhere to the tournament format if they hope to win the competition. In the LinkNow Olympics, contestants will have the opportunity to answer 30 skill-testing questions that will challenge their knowledge of arbitrary information, pop culture, and more. After the host has finished reading each question, the contestants will have an opportunity to buzz in and provide their answers. Speed is essential in this scenario, so even if you work with Google all day, it is not going to help you in this competition.
